Learning Disorder Evaluations

What are Specific Learning Disabilities?

Learning disorders affect how individuals process information related to reading, writing, and mathematics. These difficulties are not related to intelligence and often persist without targeted support.

A learning disorder evaluation is recommended when there are ongoing academic challenges, concerns about progress despite intervention, or questions about eligibility for school accommodations or services.

Our evaluations assess cognitive functioning, academic skills, and underlying processing abilities. Results clarify the presence of a learning disorder, identify strengths and weaknesses, and provide individualized recommendations to support learning at school and at home.

Areas Assessed

  • Reading (decoding, fluency, comprehension)
  • Written expression (spelling, grammar, organization)
  • Mathematics (calculation, problem solving)
  • Cognitive processing related to learning

Who is the evaluation tailored for?

Children, adolescents, and adults with concerns related to academic performance are seeking to understand their individual strengths and weaknesses in the academic setting. The evaluation is tailored to provide recommendations to support learning across settings.

  • Clinical interview and developmental history
