Neuropsychological evaluations aim to create a thorough profile of an individual's strengths and weaknesses across various abilities, including academic skills, intellectual capabilities, attention, focus, and social cognition. The information gathered during the evaluation process can help in diagnosing various mental health disorders and in formulating treatment recommendations.
These evaluations assess an individual's cognitive processes and academic functioning. The data obtained supports an understanding of an individual's strengths and weaknesses, as well as the diagnosis of learning disorders, such as specific learning disabilities, cognitive deficits, and dyslexia. In addition, an evaluation can help determine an individual's need for support systems and accommodations.
These evaluations focus on disorders associated with executive function deficits, such as Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD). The focus is to determine strengths and weaknesses associated with differences in behavior, cognition, and emotional regulation.
